First coal at the Yubileynaya mine
On the 12th of April the entire country celebrated Cosmonautics Day. For TopProm Holding and the Yubileynaya mine this notable day was marked by one more important event.
On April 12, 2014 we started sinking the flanking belt incline of coal seam No.16 at the Yubileynaya mine. The tunneling machine KP 21-150 No.1 began its work in the first drifting face and within 24 hours drove a 5 long meter working. Under the plan, the machine will sink more than 150 meters. The assembling of the second tunneling machine is scheduled for May, besides, 3 more machines will be put into operation in future.
All in all within the 2014-2015 period it is expected to sink 15,500m of workings before we achieve our final goal – longwall 16-17 – and will start the full-scale output. Currently the process is going on according to the project, and the first coal to mine from the longwall is scheduled for Q1 of 2016.
Even today some steelmakers show their interest in Zh coal grade, which will be mined at Yubileynaya: one of them is the coal procurement director at the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant Oleg Molchanov, who came to see the first coal output from the mine.
