Kemerovo hosted an award ceremony finalizing the “Most Environmentally Responsible Company” and “EcoLeader” contests. These are intended to draw the public attention to issues of environmental safety and to encourage nature protection activities in the region.

TopProm won the first prize for promoting environmental education in the newly-launched Most Environmentally Responsible Company contest. Among winners in other categories are such Kuzbass companies as Teploenergo, Koks, Novo-Kemerovskaya Tets and EVRAZ ZSMK.

The EcoLeader contest, annually held from 2013, gathered the municipal units of Kemerovo region. This is a truly large-scale and mass social event and the most diversified contest in terms of environmental campaigns and ecology projects held.

The city of Novokuznetsk became the EcoLeader in the Urban District category and took the challenge cup. Kemerovo district was pronounced the Best Municipality.

Sergey Vysotsky, the chief of the regional department of natural resources and ecology, congratulated and awarded the contest laureates, as well as volunteers, who had taken part in environmental projects.
