New art project
On October, 19th the art project "Taking the path of Kuznetsky Alatau" was presented in the Vernissage exhibition center. This project has combined a photo exhibition and two documentary films: Kuznetsky Alatau Natural Reserve and Findings of one expedition. This project has become a final stage of the environmental campaign initiated in January 2012.
The first visitors were the representatives of city administration, employees of the Kuznetsky Alatau Natural Reserve, art critics, journalists and children from the orphanages of Prokopyevsk city.
The opening of photo exhibition has become a core event of this project. The exhibition includes 100 unique photos of wildlife in the Kuznetsky Alatau Natural Reserve. It took about a year and several expeditions for the project authors to capture the right pictures. Some photos were the courtesy of Alexey Vasilchenko from his files carefully collected for ten years.
As a result the exhibited pictures embrace all seasons: fir trees in snow, first flowers, rainbow summer and foggy autumn. Rare shots of wildlife were also there: mother-bear with her cubs, moose, deer, rare species of fish and birds, etc.
The guests could also watch a 30-minute version of the documentary film about the Reserve that was shot at the Rybnoye lake and Kanym mountain ridge on the territory of Kuznetsky Alatau. The film showed the Reserve nature beauty and its inhabitants. When doing this project, the authors aimed to show Kuznetsky Alatau from within and thus to attract people’s attention to its problems.
The project organizers and the management of Kuznetskiy Alatau Natural Reserve expressed their gratitude to CJSC TopProm and its Director Nikolay Korolev for the ideological and financial support of all their ecological campaigns. Many useful things were done and many joint projects are ahead.
The exhibition will be open in Prokopyevsk till November 18th and will move to the cities of Mezhdurechensk, Novokuznetsk and Kemerovo.
The project organizers:
Sergey Shakuro – photo artist, cameraman and director of “Good Movie Studio”
Olga Kozlova – journalist, photographer and editor of “Good Movie Studio”
Alexey Vasilchenko – the Director of the State National Reserve “Kuznetsky Alatau”, photographer.
