Our Yubileynaya mine has started developing new coal seam – an event, significant not only for TopProm, but for the whole Kemerovo region.

The project was implemented within 1.5 years. We had a clear task – to boost the mine’s production capacity and to reach stable operation. The investments were used to purchase modern equipment, fully corresponding to the rock conditions of the new coal seam and for building and installation works.

All the industrial safety requirements and environmental standards were taken into account during the project implementation. To enhance the safety of coal output, along the boundaries of the seam No. 15-01 we installed Mikon Geo sensors, forecasting the underground dynamic phenomena.

We’ve created over 300 jobs under the project. Therefore, since the start of the mine’s operation in February 2016 we’ve given job to over 1,500 people, 600 of which are recent graduates. The total sum of all the TopProm’s tax payments in 2018 is to reach 2.1 billion Rubles.

In 2019 our miners are to bring to grass 2.5 billion tons of coal, thanks to TopProm’s investments. All in all the holding company, within 3.5 years, has invested in the Yubileynaya mine over 10 billion Rubles.

The Yubileynaya mine is an enterprise with a 50-year history. The development of the deposit starts in 1966. From 2010 to 2013 the mine is mothballed. In 2013 it joins TopProm group of companies to be significantly upgraded. In 2016 we start regular coal output. The mine becomes a part of a large mining-and-washing complex, also including the Shchedrukhinskaya washplant and TransAvto, our transport company.

As part of the mine’s preparation for the production extension we’ve upgraded the other two enterprises, comprising  the mining-and-washing complex. For TransAvto– we’ve bought new Scania dump trucks and renewed the loading vehicle fleet. Besides, we’ve expanded the storage areas at the Shchedrukhinskaya washplant and bought new equipment, enabling us to increase the yield of clean coal.

Clean coal of grade Zh is a highly-valued raw material for the steel industry, as it allows to make  high-strength  structured coke, needed to produce pig iron.

According to Vladimir Chestneyshin, our General Director, the key users of our coal are the steel mills, especially appreciating the stability of high quality coal shipments. The development of the new coal seam will enable us to achieve sustainable coal production and guarantee a successful cooperation with coke and steel plants in Russia and abroad.
